FROM DOWNTOWN LYNCHBURG (approx. 8 minutes)
From Holiday Inn turn LEFT onto Main St. and then turn RIGHT at stoplight onto 5th St.
From Craddock Terry Hotel (on Commerce Street one block below main) turn RIGHT onto Main St.  Continue down Main St. (past Holiday Inn on your left) to stoplight.  Turn RIGHT at stoplight onto 5th St.
1)    Take 5th St. across the James River (John Lynch Bridge) into Amherst County heading north.
2)    At the top of the hill turn RIGHT at your first stoplight onto Rt. 210 East.  This is your final turn.
3)    Keep STRAIGHT through next 3 stoplights.
4)    Continue straight on Rt. 210 crossing over the Rt. 29 bypass.
5)    Continue straight and onto the gravel road past the green Historic Riverview Way street sign.
6)    Continue straight to the VA Historic Landmark sign, Historic Riverview on the James sign and flagpole.
7)    Go through the gate and enjoy the 2 minute forested drive to Historic Riverview on the James.
 
FROM NORTH RT. 29 BUSINESS (THE EXPRESSWAY)(approx. 8 minutes from bridge)
Heading north, cross the James River (Carter Glass Bridge) into Amherst County.
Take first exit, “To CVTC, 29 Bypass, Rt. 210”
1)    At the end of the ramp turn RIGHT at the stoplight onto Rt. 210.
2)    Stay straight through next stoplight.
3)    Continue straight on Rt. 210 crossing over the Rt. 29 bypass.
4)    Continue straight and onto the gravel road past the green Historic Riverview Way street sign.
5)    Continue straight to the VA Historic Landmark sign, Historic Riverview on the James sign and flagpole.
6)    Go through the gate and enjoy the 2 minute forested drive to Historic Riverview on the James.

 

FROM RT. 460W AND ROANOKE (approx. 10 minutes from Liberty Univ. and Mall exits)
1)    Take 460 East towards Lynchburg and Appomattox.
2)    Continue around Lynchburg on 460 East, past Liberty University and Mall exits.
3)    Follow 460 East heading towards Appomattox.
4)    Look for large overpass signs for Rt. 29 North Charlottesville/Amherst.
5)    Take the RIGHT exit for Rt. 29 North Charlottesville/Amherst.
6)    Cross the James River (Monocan Bridge) into Amherst County.
7)    Take first exit on RIGHT for Rt. 210, downtown Lynchburg, Randolph College, Hospital.
8)     Keep STRAIGHT at the end of the ramp to the stop sign.  Do not bear right (to downtown Lynchburg).
9)    Turn LEFT at the stop sign and STRAIGHT onto the gravel road past the green Historic Riverview Way street sign.
10) Continue straight to the VA Historic Landmark sign, Historic Riverview on the James sign and flagpole.
11) Go through the gate and enjoy the 2 minute forested drive to Historic Riverview on the James.

 

FROM CHARLOTTESVILLE/AMHERST ON RT. 29 BYPASS (approx. 10 minutes from Amherst)
1)    Approximately 9 miles south of the town of Amherst look for downtown Lynchburg signs.
2)    Take RIGHT exit for “Downtown Lynchburg, CVTC”.
3)    Bear LEFT on ramp (right goes into downtown Lynchburg).
4)    Turn LEFT onto Rt. 210 East and keep STRAIGHT.
5)    Continue straight on Rt. 210 crossing over the Rt. 29 bypass.
7)    Continue straight and onto the gravel road past the green Historic Riverview Way street sign.
8)    Continue straight to the VA Historic Landmark sign, Historic Riverview on the James sign and flagpole.
6)    Go through the gate and enjoy the 2 minute forested drive to Historic Riverview on the James.
